Privacy Policy — Auto Vehicle Poster

Auto Vehicle Poster ("the Extension", "we", "us") is a Chrome extension that helps car-dealership staff extract vehicle details from supported dealership websites and auto-fill Facebook Marketplace vehicle listings, with optional AI-generated descriptions. This policy explains what data the Extension handles and why.

1. Information We Handle

• Account credentials. To use the Extension you log in with an email address and password. These are sent directly to Google Firebase Authentication to verify your account. We do not store your password; after login we keep only the authentication tokens needed to keep you signed in.
• Authentication & license tokens. Firebase ID/refresh tokens and a cached license expiry date are stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) so you stay logged in between sessions.
• Vehicle listing data. Vehicle details you extract (e.g. VIN, year, make, model, trim, mileage, price, colors, description, and photo URLs) are stored locally in your browser and may be sent to our processing service to generate an AI description or to apply AI photo edits that you request.
• Vehicle photos. When you ask the Extension to fill a Facebook listing or apply an AI photo edit, vehicle images are fetched and/or sent to our processing service for that purpose.

The Extension does not collect your browsing history, does not track you across websites, and only reads page content on the specific dealership and Facebook Marketplace pages listed in its permissions.

2. How We Use the Information

• To authenticate your account and verify an active license.
• To extract vehicle information and pre-fill Facebook Marketplace listings.
• To generate AI vehicle descriptions and apply AI photo edits that you request.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data for advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

Data is processed by the following providers solely to deliver the features above:

• Google Firebase Authentication & Google Cloud (Cloud Run) — account login and our backend processing functions.
• AI model provider — vehicle data and/or photos you submit are sent through our backend to an AI model to generate descriptions and photo edits.
• Facebook (Meta) — listing data you choose to post is entered into Facebook Marketplace; your use of Facebook is governed by Facebook's own privacy policy.

4. Data Storage & Retention

• Authentication tokens, license info, and extracted vehicle data are stored locally in your browser and remain until you clear them, log out, or remove the Extension.
• Data sent to our backend for AI processing is used only to fulfill your request and is not used to build advertising or user profiles.

5. Your Choices

• You can clear saved vehicles at any time from within the Extension.
• Logging out removes your stored session tokens from the browser.
• Uninstalling the Extension removes all locally stored data.
• To request deletion of any account data held by our backend, contact us using the email below.

6. Children's Privacy

The Extension is a business tool intended for dealership professionals and is not directed to children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
